Indian IP Offices adjourn all matters and hearings till May 3, 2020

In view of the Covid-19 outbreak in India, the government of India issued a 21-day lockdown which would have been in effect till April 15, 2020. Various Indian Intellectual Property (IP) Offices issued notification primarily to adjourn any proceedings happening before them to date after April 15, 2020. Now, considering that the government has extended the initial lockdown by a further period of 19 days till May 3, 2020, the Office of Controller General of Patent, Design, and Trademark (CGPDTM) issued a notification on April 15, 2020, stating that all offices under the administrative control of CGPDTM shall not be accessible to the public (in person) till this extended lockdown continues.  Furthermore, all hearings scheduled up to May 3, 2020 stand adjourned with fresh hearing dates to be notified thereafter. E-filing services of the offices under the CGPDTM shall remain un-affected and would be available round the clock.
